West Alabama Turkey Hunt

I travelled to Bibb County yesterday to turkey hunt and visit with my good friend Carl Vernon. We graduated from college together and Carl was in our wedding about 4 years ago. We heard a few gobblers, but didn't leave the woods with a bird, Oh Well, the visit was good anyway! Here are some pictures... Daybreak in Bibb County

Here is Carl scaring off.......I MEAN... calling up a gobbler! He said all he needed was a stage and he could be at the world turkey calling championship with his artistic strutting!

Nope, no birds in this field. Pretty though!

Planting Season 2008-2009

I know that these pictures are from a few months ago, but we have been very busy with a growing family! Here are a few pictures from FCI's planting season. Enjoy! My "office" for a few weeks.

The crew warming up EARLY one cold morning!

Longleaf and Loblolly seedlings

The wax coated Longleaf boxes burn very good, and FAST!

Winter Field Trial 2009

The Bama Brittany Club sponsored the Winter Field Trial Feb. 1-Feb.8 2009 in Lowndes and Dallas County. Here are a few pictures from the trial and one brace of the Open Gun Dog stake. My trusty steed for the day. He is a good horse to ride when putting out the birds.

One string of Brittany's among the many that were there.

Off to the next cover for another find...hopefully!
